restorative yoga

Restorative Yoga allows the body to enter into a deep state of relaxation, activating the healing para-sympathetic nervous system. The soothing postures where the body is supported by bolsters and blankets which essentially assist in staying in the postures longer, ensure the body is able to completely release, so there’s no holding, stretching or striving to deepen a pose, only a total release and a sense of letting go. This practice triggers the vagus nerve, helping us to feel balanced, renewed and supports a good night's sleep.

detox yoga

A yin/yang fusion class to detox your mind, body and soul after a long week at work and in preparation for the weekend to come. Beginning with an energising yang practice to allow students to fully drop attention into the body and ending with a nourishing yin and meditation practice. This class promotes strength, energy and flexibility. 

Yin

heather yoga, saltaire

Yin yoga is a deeper practice that targets the body's connective tissue and compliments vigorous yang forms of yoga. This practice is typically floor-based, postures are held for 3-5 minutes and was originally developed to prepare the body for long meditation sessions. Yin yoga encourages the body to soften into the pose while making use of props and blankets. This practice quietens the mind and nurtures a healthy body and soul.

 
 

Private Classes

We are happy to provide private classes from the comfort of your own home or you can book to have a private lesson where we are based in Leeds.  We offer hatha, vinyasa flow, ashtanga vinyasa, yin, restorative as well as yoga nidra ("yogic sleep"), meditation, mindfulness and breath manipulation. Corporate Classes

As a sedentary environment, the workplace is a wonderful arena to counterbalance daily routines and long-term physical effects desk sitting can have on our backs, shoulders, hips and wrists. Not forgetting the mental effects that long hours and stressful days filled with deadlines, meetings, training and networking events can have on our wellbeing. Yoga counteracts this by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, sometimes called the rest and digest system, which slows the heart rate, improves digestion, restores the body to a state of equilibrium and maintains long-term health by allowing us to relax and repair.
